Updated: October 12, 2009

Our goal at CafeGive is to provide you with a secure, effective and efficient way to raise money for the causes you believe in. We take the privacy of our members and the security of their personal information very seriously.

What Information We Collect and Why

To take advantage of the grassroots fund-raising capabilities and offers, you must register and become a CafeGive member. During registration, we require members to give us basic contact information: your name and email address. When you register, you will also be asked to create a user name and password for your account so as to protect your personal information.

You have the option to supply us with information regarding causes or stores you like. If you do so, we will use this information to share relevant information and offers with you. Our registration information may change from time to time but only information marked with a "required" is necessary for registration.

Who Sees This Information

Only a very limited number of CafeGive employees ever have access to your personal information. This information is primarily accessed to provide customer service.

We may use contractors or vendors to help us provide some of the services at our site. If we need to disclose personal information to them for the services, it is a requirement that the information is kept confidential and only used for those services.

How We Keep Your Information Secure

The security of your personal information is important to us. At CafeGive, we follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. Our security measures include firewalls, encryption during internet transmission, regular internal audits, password protections and vulnerability scans.

CafeGive does not collect sensitive information such as your social security number or credit card numbers. Any sensitive information that we may have access to, such as order transaction information needed to be able to make payments to your cause, we protect using encryption during internet transmission, restricted access and secure storage.

Your Privacy with CafeGive

CafeGive will never ask for your username, password or any other personal information in an unsolicited phone call, email or letter. Further, any contact with CafeGive customer service in which personal information is exchanged with a customer service representative will be used only for the purpose of satisfying that request. Any personal information you provide will not be recorded or used for any reason beyond that of the stated request without your consent.

Your Privacy with Our Merchants and Advertisers

CafeGive widgets contain links to various other sites. Each of these sites has a privacy policy that may differ from that of CafeGive. The privacy practices of other websites linked to CafeGive are not covered by this privacy policy.

CafeGive will not disclose any of your personal information to our merchants or advertisers. The only information that may be shared between CafeGive and one of our listed merchants is information that pertains to your orders in the furtherance of tracking your order and providing CafeGive with a correct commission so that we can provide the correct payments to your causes. Order information, including order numbers and amounts, may be available to either CafeGive, the merchant, or third party affiliate program management companies for accurate tracking purposes. CafeGive will not release this information to other parties unless requested by you. We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site or to protect CafeGive and its members from losses.

CafeGive does not record any personal information passed from our members to our merchants when you are shopping using CafeGive widgets.

CafeGive cannot and does not assume any responsibility for any actions or omissions of third parties, including the manner in which they use information received from users of the CafeGive website.
