How do I shop on CafeGive?

Shopping for your cause is easy on CafeGive, and there is no extra cost to you or the nonprofit you're shopping for!

  1. Browse the stores on CafeGive
  2. Click on "visit store" or "shop" to go to the store's site
  3. Your cause earns funds from each purchase you make when you visit the store site via CafeGive.

What about returns? Will my nonprofit earn if I return the product?

No. Returns will not earn, and our payment to the nonprofit will be adjusted for returns. Because we pay quarterly to the nonprofit, we can adjust before the payment. We do not adjust payments once they are made.

Can I use coupons?

CafeGive posts Deals and Coupons, which do earn for your nonprofit. If you use a coupon from another source, the earnings may not count.

What stores are on CafeGive?

Why do some stores say “up to” a percentage instead of an exact percentage?

Commission amounts are determined by each e-commerce merchant. Some of CafeGive’s e-commerce partners have very diverse product lines with a wide range of prices. These online stores offer different commissions for different product categories found on their site. Where the merchant's commission varies by product, we indicate that you can earn "up to" a certain percentage because the exact commission amount is based on your purchase.

Can I earn for my non profit through travel purchases?

Yes! You can earn for your cause with purchases at Travel Agencies, Airlines, Hotels and Car Rental Agencies featured on CafeGive. Airline tickets generally pay a flat fee, which varies by merchant. All these earnings are passed on to your non profit. Many travel merchants pay earnings only after a trip has been completed. Generally taxes, carrier/handling fees and other fees do not earn for your cause.

What if I cannot find a specific store on CafeGive's website?

If you have an online store you routinely purchase from that you think would pair nicely with nonprofits and shopping for a cause, please let us know. We are looking for high quality stores that sell great products and share our desire to do good in the world. As part of this, we are looking for online stores you believe will improve your ability to earn funds through CafeGive.

Do purchases of gift cards earn dollars for my cause?

Often gift card purchases do not allow you to earn for your cause. This is determined by each merchant. However, some gift card purchases do earn for your cause. To find out which ones do earn, please visit our Gift Cards that Earn shop page.

Does my cause earn if I use a discount/promotional code offered through a store site?

If the discount or special offer is found on the CafeGive site Deals and Coupons page, then the purchase definitely earns for your cause. Some merchants do not pay a percentage of the purchase price on purchases that take advantage of discounts or special offers made directly to you from the merchant (for example, via email.) Each merchant handles discounts and special offers according to their policy. Again, all special offers highlighted on the CafeGive site DO earn for your cause.

Can I receive a deduction for the earnings associated with my purchase?

Your purchase is not a contribution since you receive a product or service valued at the amount you paid.

I'm having a problem with a merchant. What can I do?

CafeGive wants your purchase experience to be positive. Please know we only want to represent merchants which offer our shoppers/advocates excellent customer service. If you are unsatisfied with the item you purchase or have delivery related questions, please contact the customer service center provided by the merchant directly. If you have contacted the merchant and do not feel your issue is being addressed, please contact us.
