The miracle is a child’s expression when they see their first play. The miracle is when cutting-edge theatre from Mexico City finds an audience in Portland, OR. The miracle is a Latino youth’s decision to stay in school after participating in a performance residency in a Portland high school.

Miracle Theatre Group — the Northwest’s premier Latino arts organization — has been dedicated to bringing the vibrancy of Latino theatre to the Northwest community and beyond since 1985. Our mission is to provide quality Latino theatre, arts and cultural experiences for the Northwest’s urban and rural audiences. In addition to its national tours, Miracle provides a home for Spanish and Latin American arts and culture at El Centro Milagro, where it enriches the local community with a variety of community outreach projects and educational programs designed to share the diversity of Latino culture.

Miracle's efforts have a positive impact. We give a prominent voice to issues affecting the local and national Latino community. We introduce new performers, significant opportunities and diverse artists to the Portland region. Our outreach initiatives serve the underprivileged, at-risk youth, and under-served communities and individuals throughout the Northwest. As artists we use our creative capacity and resources to collaborate with local and regional human and social service agencies to develop artistic programming that addresses important issues impacting health, education and cultural sensitivity.
